Training and Development Service

RL Safeguarding Service provides tailor made programmes designed to respond to your learning needs. Our priority is to ensure that all those working with vulnerable groups take account of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of those in your care. Our services integrate equality and diversity and our training programmes are designed to support and enhance the confidence of practitioners and managers in a complex and challenging practice.

We offer written training materials suitable for your organisation. Training will include visual aids and where appropriate, there will be an element of interactive participation.

We also offer development opportunities such as co-working to help build up individuals confidence and increase an organisations capacity.

Depending upon your specific requirement courses will typically run from 1 to 5 days.

We Provide:

We Target:

Those in regular contact with children and young people
Those in regular contact with vulnerable adults
Adults who are parents or carers
Those who work regularly with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults
Those with a particular responsibility for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
Operational and strategic managers for commissioning and delivery of services

Smaller sessions can be run for the purposes of updating are available and will depend on the clients requirements, objectives and geographical location.

Overview of child law and policy and your role in implementation
Duties of care and implications for your organisation

Information sharing and rules of confidentiality
Working within the Sexual Offences Act 2003

RL Safeguarding Training Programmes are designed for your needs. The following is a list of the primary courses we offer:

Basic awareness for single agency (up to 1 full day)
Supervision- Conceptual Model: Healthy supervision for professionals and practitioners (3-5 day course)
Record keeping and accountability (half a day - 1 day or as part of another training package, see below)
Individual cases, role of record keeping, case management and analysis of professional judgement (2 days)
Recording, statements and contributing to the court processes (1-2 days depending on roles and responsibilities)
Court rooms skills (3 days)
Achieving Best Evidence (5 days)
Section 7 and Section 37 Reports, Children Act 1989 (1 day)
Working with challenging families (2 day)
Safeguarding Children in the Digital World (up to 1 day)
Training the facilitators to deliver Safeguarding Children in General Practice (2 modules)- duration depends on need
Safeguarding Children in Dental Practice
Substances misuse and impact on parenting capacity ( up to 2 day)

Fees

Fees vary depending on the client's organisation and size. Rosemary Luce, Director, does under certain circumstances undertake Public Office work both paid and unpaid. However, fees will be applicable to most clients.

For each day of training there is a half day of planning included in the fees. For training that requires further development to meet the needs of the client an additional fee will apply.

Materials

Training material will be provided for up to 16 participants. Additional packs will incur additional costs. If postage of material is required then this will be charged at cost to the client.
